We’re Ricia and Mike, proud Canadians who chose to follow our dream and make beautiful Manzanillo our home in October 2023. From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with the relaxed lifestyle, spectacular beaches, warm-hearted Mexican people, rich culture, incredible cuisine, and the year-round sunshine that make this special corner of Mexico so unforgettable.
Together, we’ve created Casa 700 Mangos to be more than just a place to stay. Our goal is to offer a warm, welcoming boutique villa experience where guests can relax, recharge, and discover the authentic charm of Manzanillo while feeling right at home.
Ricia is an entrepreneur who continues to operate a successful global virtual wellness business, while Mike, a retired police officer from the City of Victoria, British Columbia, is the creative inventor, problem solver, and “fix-it” expert who keeps Casa 700 Mangos looking its very best. Between us, we make a great team—Ricia loves entertaining guests and preparing delicious home-cooked meals, while Mike is always happy to mix your favourite beverage and share a story or two.
We also enjoy helping our guests discover the Manzanillo we’ve come to love. Whether you’re searching for a hidden beach, the best local restaurant, the famous Saturday Tianguis Market, or those special places known mostly to the locals, we’re always happy to share our favourite recommendations and help you make the most of your stay.
Languages are never a problem. Ricia speaks English, Spanish, and French, while Mike speaks English, is learning Spanish, and even knows a little German. We enjoy welcoming guests from around the world and helping everyone feel comfortable from the moment they arrive.
If you’re an early riser, don’t be surprised if Ricia invites you to join her and our two lovable puppies, Rex and Lola, for an early morning trip to the beach. One of her favourite ways to start the day is walking the shoreline at sunrise, and she’s always happy to share one of Manzanillo’s most beautiful daily experiences with guests.
Animal lovers at heart, Ricia and Mike have opened not only their home but also their hearts to rescued animals. Their furry family includes four indoor rescue cats—Buttons, Noel, Chicalita, and Midnight Girl—along with Leo, their friendly outdoor kitty, and two lovable puppies, Rex and Lola, who are always happy to welcome new friends. Their love of animals is one of the reasons Casa 700 Mangos has become one of the few truly pet-friendly boutique villa retreats in Manzanillo.
